The Teacher Runway Walk officially opens the Gala. This is a time for dancers and families to applaud & show utmost appreciation to their studio directors & teachers from the audience as they are announced and introduced to the Gala for the Showcase Events.
Teachers, please dress in Red Carpet Attireย during this Runway Walk. Photos will be taken by ID Media of each studio and their faculty. The walk will be presented on the main stage.
Please line up backstage, Stage Right, with the ID Backstage Manager 15โ20 minutes priorย to check your studio staff in.
Depending on timeliness, studios may be asked for an interview before their time on the Runway.
Following the Runway Walk, teachers, please find your assigned Gala seat at the round tables in the audience to be seated for the Showcase Opening Number performance. Studio Directors, please take home the gift presented on your assigned table.
ELIGIBILITY FAQโS
ICONIC LEVEL
If the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd placeย routine opts out of the Showcase, the 4th placeย routine will be entered. ID will notify the studio if this situation occurs.
INTERMEDIATE / NOVICE / GLOW LEVEL
If the 1st or 2nd placeย routine opts out of the Showcase, the 3rd placeย routine will be entered. ID will notify the studio if this situation occurs.
Only the three highest-scoring Line-Productions of the eventย will be entered into the Showcase, regardless of competitive level. This rule is in place to ensure the Showcase runs in a timely and respectful manner.
There is the option for a Studioโs Choice routineย for the Group & Line-Production Showcase. The Studioโs Choice is available to studios who have a minimum of 20 routines enteredย in the Nationals event and who do not have a routine qualified for the Showcase, offering a second chance to those who did not place first or second in their division.
To be considered for the Showcase, Studioโs Choice must be submitted to the ID Dance Registration staff following the final eligible awards ceremonyโmeaning the last awards ceremony in which the studio had the opportunity to place first or second.
Each eligible studio gets one (1) Studioโs Choice routine.
The Studioโs Choice routine submission can only be a Small or Large Group, not a Line-Production. The Studioโs Choice routine must be selected from the studioโs top three highest-scoring groups. ID Dance can provide a list of the Top 3 Highest-Scoring Groups to assist the studio in making their selection.
This guideline exists in recognition that not all dancers may be available to participate due to the last-minute nature of Studioโs Choice additions.
Studios with one or more entries that qualify for the Showcase (by winning an eligible Overall placement in their division) are not eligibleย to enter a Studioโs Choice routine.
Judges are allowed to select up to three Studioโs Choice routines.
